  1. 1) 4*
Pros: Original and interesting story. Revolutionary idea. Good introduction of characters. Delves into utopia and its consequences. Deals with human flaws. The whole book is food for thought.

Cons: Lack of emotional depth between Citra and Rowan, the romance just jumped into being.

    2) I don't have I would have the stomach to do this, but if it was the only choice and if it was to protect my family, I would.

    3) I honestly didn't understand Volta's actions. He was deeply depressed, which unfortunately often leads to suicide. However, I don't understand why he would carry out the gleaning of all those children, only to self-glean after.

    4) I would love to read Curie and Faraday's love story, as I'm sure a lot of you would :D

    5) After reading this story, I believe I would still love to live in this semi-immortal world. One of my greatest fears is death, so I would love to probably have the chance to live longer and to be able to read, travel, learn, live a lot more.

  2. Samuel:

I haven't finished this book yet due to my lack of free time.
But I just wanted to say that I am loving this book.

  3. 1. I gave this book 5 stars. The original idea was awesome and I love how it is written. The part I least liked (and honestly, almost everybody didn't like it) was Rowan and Citra's romance. It could've just been a close friendship. I ignore it and it may turn into something good in Thunderhead! So totally 5 stars, without a doubt!
    2. I would, to protect my family and also at least I knew it was a crime to kill me, and one of my biggest fears is death, like Priscila. I'm not sure I would pass the final test, though! Super duper hard!
    3. I understand Volta, I think he was kind of crazy at this point. He was mentally ill. But he had an escape, which was Rowan. Rowan was ready to run away from Goddard (even kill him and his friends) and if Volta would've been a little bit stronger, he could've freed himself with Rowan's help. Rowan told him a lot of times it didn't have to be that way.
    4. I'd love if there was a prequel of either Faraday or Curie! Not only about their love story but how they became scythes and developed their values.
    5. I'm so confused!! Yes, I would because I'm scared of death. But also my fear makes me do everything in the moment - like tell the person I love that I love him/her; I don't leave argues open to be solved another time. I'm afraid I would do so in the Scythedom world. I remember it is mentioned in the book people just give up on their dreams because they think they have the time in the world to chase them. So I don't really have a yes or no answer to this question!

    1. I get that, but I like to think that I would have even more dreams because I would have time to do it. And also, since there was no poverty, I could go for dreams I never had the chance before, like horse riding or playing the piano

  4. 1.I've read this one a while ago but reread it this month so I could do this review!
I absolutely love this book (and its sequel!!). I gave it 5 out of 5 stars back then and I'd do it again!
The world is original and so well builted, the characters and their motives are complex and well portraited and I'm head over heels in love with Scythe Curie, my favorite character hands down.
    2. Yes I would, to protect my family.
    3. I understand Volta's motives, for me he was lost for a long time and saw suicide has the only way to escape not only Goddard but the person himself had become.
    4. CURIE'S STORY ALL THE WAY.
    5. Yes I would like to live in a semi-immortal world, not because I fear death but because I fear goodbyes. Saying goodbye to someone you love, being a parent or someone else who's close to your heart and see them being taken away by death, that freaks the hell out of me.
